DAP’s story began over 60 years ago with the lamination of Michelin maps. Over the decades, the company diversified its production and developed Stratimage®, its unique process for manufacturing bespoke high-pressure laminate (HPL). Today, DAP is a European leader in customised HPL solutions.

Continuous investment in new technologies, combined with complete control of its production process, has enabled DAP to become a major European player in its field.

DAP’s core business is the manufacture and marketing of bespoke HPL panels under the Stratimage® brand. Their outstanding technical properties provide exceptional resistance to weather conditions while offering virtually unlimited possibilities for customisation.

Each year, DAP contributes its expertise to more than 2,000 projects worldwide.

The company has built its reputation on more than 60 years of expertise, the care and reliability with which every order is handled, and the consistently high quality of its products.

1966

Founding of the company DAP

DAP was founded in 1966. It specialized in the mail order market of laminated maps and mailed by postal service more than 650,000 catalogs.

1980

Dap's first laminate press

DAP buys its own HPL press to expand its business to other sectors and master the HPL technology.

1990

Technical Development

In the 1990s, the first inkjet plotters came onto the market, making it possible to produce customised printed designs. Under the leadership of DAP’s owner at that time, Mr Prat, the company seized the opportunity to expand into signage and developed Stratimage®—a highly resistant and durable solution.

2004

Incomparable UV Resistance

DAP developed a new advanced UV-protection technology, guaranteeing its panels for 10 years of outdoor use. Unique to DAP, this technology established Stratimage® as the benchmark and European market leader in durable outdoor signage.

2011

Development of the bespoke interior design business

DAP invested in woodworking equipment to expand its activities into design, bespoke interior décor and custom-made tables for hotels, cafés and restaurants.

Since 2011, DAP has exported its products internationally, primarily across Europe, while also serving markets in Africa and overseas territories.

2017

New Management

Line and Laurent Veilex take over the company following Thierry Prat’s retirement. This French-Danish couple, who have lived and worked in several countries, are committed to continuously improving the technical performance of Stratimage® and expanding DAP internationally.

In recognition of their development project for DAP, they were named 2017 laureates of Réseau Entreprendre® Isère.
